Neuromodulators
Softer Lines, Still Completely You
Neuromodulators are one of the most requested treatments at June Medical, and for good reason. A few small injections relax the facial muscles responsible for forehead lines, frown lines between the brows, and crow's feet around the eyes. The result is skin that looks smoother and more rested without freezing your expression or changing the way your face moves.
Dr. Vanessa Vélez Martínez treats every face individually. She looks at how your muscles actually move, where your lines fall, and what you want to change before deciding on placement or dosing. That evaluation is what separates a natural result from an obvious one, and it is why so many of our San Juan patients come back.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
Your visit starts with a conversation. Dr. Vélez will ask what bothers you, watch how you animate, and explain exactly which areas she recommends treating and why. Nothing gets injected until you understand the plan and feel good about it.
The treatment itself takes about fifteen minutes. The needles are very fine, most people describe the sensation as a quick pinch, and you can head right back to your day afterward. You will start noticing softening around day three or four, with full results settling in around two weeks. Most patients maintain their results with a visit every three to four months.
Here is what makes neuromodulator treatment at our San Juan practice worth considering.

Will I still be able to make normal facial expressions?
Yes. Dr. Vélez doses conservatively and places each injection based on how your face actually moves, so you keep your natural range of expression while the lines soften. If you want a stronger effect, that is a conversation we can have at your follow up.
How long do neuromodulator results last?
Most patients enjoy their results for three to four months. This varies with metabolism, the area treated, and how expressive you are. Coming in on a consistent schedule tends to make results last a little longer over time.
Does the treatment hurt?
Very little. The needles used are extremely fine and each injection takes a second or two. Most people compare it to a quick pinch. We can apply a topical numbing cream beforehand if you are particularly sensitive.
When will I see results?
You will notice the first changes around three to four days after treatment, with the full effect visible at about two weeks. We will often schedule a brief check in around that two week mark to make sure everything looks the way you hoped.
